The Queen's Bishop AttackThe Queen's Bishop Attack (1.d4 d5 2.Bg5) is an unusual looking opening, and is sure to come as a surprise to your opponents. The video here doesn't provide a full look at the Queen Bishop's Attack, but it shows a single, very nice trap in this opening. And sometimes a single idea can be enough to build an opening repertoire around, as GM Sadler elaborates upon in his book "Tips For Young Players". So watch the video below, and if the trap appeals to you, learn it. If your opponent doesn't follow the line in the video, then develop your pieces as in the London System (video below) and you'll have excellent development and a promising middle game. (Note that the opening is so new and fresh, it's name is unclear. In this video it's called the "1...d5 Trompowsky", Plaskett's book on it is "The Queen's Bishop Attack", and Mednis' article calls it "The Hodgson Attack".)
