Pre-Season Tourneys 2000
Gamma Tourney at Meridian
The Monday Night Gamma tournament was held Monday November 27 at the Meridian High School Cafeteria. The three-round, Washington Scholastic Ratings System rated tournament, open to 5th-12th grade players of all abilities, saw 49 players show up to do battle. Kickoff Tournament 2000, Oct. 16
How many squares on a chessboard? That many players converged at the Ferndale High School cafeteria to kick off the chess season in a 3 round Swiss, 30/30 tournament. The top section saw some 2nd, 6th and 7th graders in with the high schoolers to make things interesting! And 23 of the players were playing in their first WSRS rated event.
